Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary responsibility is to ensure all plant equipment and buildings are maintained and kept to all current safety standards, including management of Maintenance Team.

 

  • Ensuring all maintenance personnel are adequately trained to perform their duties safely.
  • Ensuring all machinery spare parts are stocked to necessary levels and up to date.
  • Identifying & Implementing improvements to plant, equipment and buildings to relevant standards and requirements.
  • Responsible for all Planned, Preventive and Breakdown maintenance systems.
  • Responsible for site LOLER & LOTTO systems.
  • Development, implementation and monitoring of maintenance systems, PPMs and performance metrics.
  • Management of maintenance operators covering electrical, mechanical and control skill areas including development, discipline and performance reviews.
  • Primary contact for infrastructure and site related topics.
  • Primary contact for subcontractors and issues Permit to Work to sub-contractors on factory site.
  • Identification, selection and development of new suppliers/ contractors for associated activities.

  • Requires understanding and application of procedures and practices within own area and basic knowledge of other areas
  • Understands how the team relates to other closely related teams to improve efficiency

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • 3+ direct reports
  • Has formal supervisory responsibilities; sets priorities for and coaches associates to meet deadlines
  • Has performance management and people development responsibility for associates under their care
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills to successfully address internal and external challenges facing the Manufacturing Team.
  • People management skills
  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of Plant and Equipment maintenance in a comparable industry 

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • 5–7 years’ experience supervising and developing staff, ideally within manufacturing
  • HND or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
