What to expect

As a Claim Handling Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our customer support and quality assurance efforts. Working full-time from our Gates office in Ghent, you’ll manage technical claims related to Gates automotive replacement parts, ensuring swift, accurate, and customer-focused resolutions. Your insights will help improve product quality, strengthen customer loyalty, and drive continuous improvement across our operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyse technical data and assess root causes (new vs. installed parts, supplier verification, etc.).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Line Management, and Technical Specialists.
  • Support events like Tech Days and Sales Conferences to share knowledge and build brand trust.
  • Conduct genuine part verification and initiate counterfeit processes when needed.
  • Confirm correct application usage and perform in-depth technical analysis.
  • Issue clear, data-driven Claim Analysis Reports.
  • Make informed decisions on claim outcomes (accept/reject) based on your expertise.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators.
  • Contribute to product quality improvements through preventive actions and supplier engagement.
  • Act as a brand ambassador by delivering exceptional service and technical support.

  • Requires breadth and/or depth of skills in a range of processes, procedures and systems
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of department processes and procedures

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • A technical bachelor’s degree (automotive, mechanical engineering, auto tech) or 2+ years of relevant experience in a technical/quality role within the automotive industry, or 5+ years of experience in a garage
  • Strong interest in automotive technology and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and local Dutch.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach.
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to work across departments.
