What to expect
As a Claim Handling Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our customer support and quality assurance efforts. Working full-time from our Gates office in Ghent, you’ll manage technical claims related to Gates automotive replacement parts, ensuring swift, accurate, and customer-focused resolutions. Your insights will help improve product quality, strengthen customer loyalty, and drive continuous improvement across our operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyse technical data and assess root causes (new vs. installed parts, supplier verification, etc.).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Line Management, and Technical Specialists.
- Support events like Tech Days and Sales Conferences to share knowledge and build brand trust.
- Conduct genuine part verification and initiate counterfeit processes when needed.
- Confirm correct application usage and perform in-depth technical analysis.
- Issue clear, data-driven Claim Analysis Reports.
- Make informed decisions on claim outcomes (accept/reject) based on your expertise.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators.
- Contribute to product quality improvements through preventive actions and supplier engagement.
- Act as a brand ambassador by delivering exceptional service and technical support.

Requirements and Preferred Skills
- A technical bachelor’s degree (automotive, mechanical engineering, auto tech) or 2+ years of relevant experience in a technical/quality role within the automotive industry, or 5+ years of experience in a garage
- Strong interest in automotive technology and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills in English and local Dutch.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach.
- A collaborative spirit and ability to work across departments.
