Position Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for managing the production process, ensuring the correct utilization of material, human resources & machines, complying with safety, product quality and meeting customer requirements, and participating in project development. Focus on achieving organizational goals and objectives (safety, quality, delivery, costs & inventory), legal requirements and environmental management system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages an area or multiple teams within a plant or corporate function
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
  • Decisions are guided by policies, resources and business plan; receives moderate guidance from direct manager
  • Integrates industry best practices in own area to the achievement of objectives
  • Identifies and resolves moderately complex business problems
  • Decision making involves compiling and organizing information and selecting best option from a range of alternatives, and put forward to Senior Management's approval, wherever necessary.
  • Impacts the level of service and the team’s ability to meet quality, volume and timeliness of objectives
  • Guided by departmental policies, resource requirements, budgets and business plan
  • Implements, Interprets and executes policies; makes process modifications
  • Guides, influences and persuades others internally and/or externally
  • Manage the production process, ensure the correct performance of human, material and machine resources considering as a priority safety to accomplish hour by hour production goals.
  • Ensure product quality in compliance with customer specifications and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the legal, corporate, national and international system requirements applicable to the organization .

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor´s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other Engineering.   Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the Rubber, Plastics, Metalworking or Automotive industry
  • MSOffice: Excel, Word, Oracle.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • ISO9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.
