Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Gates Hydraulics are recruiting for additional Cell Leaders at their Eaton Socon, St. Neots location.
This will be working a 2 shift pattern (Week 1: Mon-Fri 06.00-14.00 / Week 2: Mon-Thu 14.00-22.30 & 14.00-20.00), inital training may be on a day shift 08.00-16.00 Mon-Fri.
Reporting to the Shift Leader, Cell Leaaders are responsible for acting as the leader on Production Cells within the manufacturing area (Hose Assembly / Stores).
Responsible for achieving defined targets for health & safety, quality, production and environmental control, and must ensure that all operational systems and procedures are adhered to by all personnel within their area of responsibility.
The Cell Leader support the business in producing hydraulic hose assemblies in accordance with the St Neots production plan utilising lean manufacturing methodologies as defined under the Gates Production System (GPS) whilst ensuring that all the requirements of the company H&S, Quality and Environmental/Energy Management Systems are fully complied with.
Keys to Success
- A good working knowledge/experience of working within a Production environment
- Excellent cmmunication skills, both written and verbal (English)
- Experience of leading a team
Supervisory Responsibilities
Although the Cell Leader does not have dircect supervisory responsibility, their resposibility is to support the Shft Leader to lead the team
Coaches associates to meet deadlines
Uses judgment to identify and resolve day-to-day problems
Impacts the level of service and the team’s ability to meet quality, volume, and timelines objectives within their area
Works within departmental objectives and priorities

- Promote a positive atmosphere so that the department has a strong team, accept challenges and have a strong commitment and desire to exceed and achieve the stated goals and objectives
- Must have good communication skills and the ability to train others, being able to communicate effectively, enabling other team members to understand and support company goals and objectives
- Must have a flexible attitude/desire to be able to turn their hand to anything, as with the team being very small the duties will be variable and the flexibility of the person is paramount to achieving the goals
