Gates Hydraulics are recruiting for additional Production Operators within their Despatch team at their Eaton Socon, St. Neots location.
Working a 2-shift pattern (Week 1: Mon-Fri 06.00-14.00 / Week 2: Mon-Thu 14.00-22.30 & 14.00-20.00), inital training may be on a day shift 08.00-16.00 Mon-Fri.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reports directly to Plant Manager, St. Neots, with day to day instruction from Team Leader.
Production Operators within the Despatch area are responsible for picking/packing hydraulic hose assemblies.
Responsibilites include:
- Ensure that all applicable H&S procedures/working practices are complied with at all times with particular emphasis on complying with Gates Life Critical Rules
- Report any perceived H&S risks
- Assist in containment activity in the event of a HSE incident
- Be part of the team to adopt and understand the benefits gained from all Lean Manufacturing (GPS) methods
Keys to Success
- A good working knowledge/experience of working within a Stores/Despatch environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English)

Requirements and Preferred Skills
- Must be Customer and Quality focused; demonstrating ability to adapt and change
- Promote a positive atmosphere so that the department has a strong team, accept challenges and have a strong commitment and desire to exceed and achieve the stated goals and objectives
- Must have a flexible attitude
- Ideally a Fork Truck Licence holder (current certificate), or the desire to learn
