Position Summary
The Planning & Procurement Supervisor is responsible for leading production planning, materials scheduling, procurement activities, inventory management, and supplier performance to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role coordinates cross-functional activities between suppliers, production, warehouse, logistics, engineering, and customer service teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, achieve delivery commitments, and support organizational objectives related to cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
The position supervises planning and procurement personnel and drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on supply chain efficiency, inventory optimization, and operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute production and material plans based on customer demand, forecasts, and capacity constraints.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust planning parameters to prevent material shortages and excess inventory.
- Coordinate with production, operations, and customer service teams to align manufacturing schedules with customer requirements.
- Manage MRP and planning systems to ensure accurate demand and supply signals.
- MRO and Services procurement.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise Planning and Procurement team members.
- Establish departmental goals and performance expectations.
- Coach, train, and develop team members to enhance capabilities and succession planning.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Manage workload distribution and resource planning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements and Preferred Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in materials planning, production planning, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably automotive, industrial, or massive consumer products.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Understanding of:
- MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, QAD, JDE, Plex, etc.)
- Demand Planning

- Forecasting Methodologies
- Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Spanish proficiency preferred for operations in Mexico.
