Position Summary

The Product Costing Analyst will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely standard costs through the creation and validation of Bills of Materials (BOMs), Routings, and related costing structures in SAP. The role supports the financial integrity of manufacturing cost calculations and ensures consistency across systems and operations. This position collaborates closely with plant engineering, procurement, and the finance team to ensure cost accuracy and readiness for monthly and yearly cost rollups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the accurate creation and maintenance of product cost structures in SAP, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), Routings, and activity rates, to ensure reliable standard cost calculation (TPC).
  • Supports the finance and operations teams by providing cost transparency, supporting costing runs, and ensuring that product master data reflects actual production processes and procurement strategies.
  • This position is essential to guarantee compliance with costing policies, support industrial decision-making, and maintain data consistency across systems. The role is hands-on, working closely with engineering, procurement, supply chain and plant management.
  • Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
  • Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
  • Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
  • Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
  • Solves standard problems by analyzing possible solutions using experience, judgment and precedents.
  • Impacts the quality of own work and the work of others on the team; works within guidelines and policies.
  • Explain information to others in straightforward situations.

Keys to Success

  • Create, review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Routings in SAP for new and existing products.
  • Calculate and validate Total Product Cost (TPC) based on accurate master data and cost drivers.
  • Support annual standard cost rollups and monthly costing updates, ensuring cost accuracy and timely releases.
  • Collaborate with engineering and plant teams to ensure routing and BOMs reflect real production flows.
  • Liaise with procurement to capture the correct purchase prices and costing structure for externally sourced components.
  • Ensure alignment of product costing with Group policies and internal controls.
  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies affecting product cost.
  • Prepare ad hoc costing simulations to support local or regional decision-making.
  • Support finance audits and internal reviews related to costing master data.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Solid knowledge of SAP product costing (BOMs, Routings, material data).
  • Team player with good communication across departments (operations, procurement, engineering).
  • Proactive mindset with willingness to improve data quality and processes.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities under strict deadlines.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Degree in Finance, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or similar.
  • 2-4 years of experience in costing, controlling or industrial finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid experience with SAP ERP (preferably S/4HANA).
  • Strong Excel skills and experience handling data for analysis.
  • Fluency in English, Catalan and Spanish.
  • Experience in BOM/routing maintenance or collaboration with engineering teams is a plus.
  • Knowledge of standard costing and variance analysis is desirable.

Travel

  • Occasional travel to manufacturing sites (max. 10%).
