Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage Mechatronics engineering team and work with global innovation team for the product development of eWP, CVT/GMM program etc.
  • Work with global team for the design, simulation and validation of BLDC motors and eWP product development, validation and supporting electronic controls for high-performance applications of eWP /GMM etc.  
  • Oversee electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical modeling using tools such as ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD, and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Guide the selection of materials, winding configurations, and manufacturing processes, ensure seamless integration of motor control electronics.
  • Interface with customer, suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure design for manufacturability and cost optimization.
  • Work with global innovation team to develop and optimize embedded firmware for real-time control and communication systems. Implement and optimize algorithms for control, signal processing, and system diagnostics.
  • Work with global innovation team to develop and integrate communication protocols including CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet.
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, and software teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
  • Manage prototype builds, testing, and iterative design improvements.
  • Work with automation engineering team for line specification and problem solving etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position supervises Mechatronics engineering group. The direct reports are the Mechatronics engineers.

  • Leads others to solve complex problems; uses analytical thinking, tools and judgement to identify innovative solutions
  • Assists upper level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor
  • May lead teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Fluid Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Mechatronics design, validation with a strong focus on the development of BLDC motor and eWP product etc. 
  • Demonstrated organizational and troubleshooting skills, the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and lead the execution ability to the team.
  • Proven track record of leading complex motor design projects from concept to production.
  • Proficiency in electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, JMAG, Motor-CAD).
  • Strong understanding of motor control principles and integration with embedded systems.
  • Experience with device communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, etc.).
  • Familiarity with control algorithms, digital signal processing, or sensor integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software and systems to ensure seamless integration of firmware into mechatronic systems.
