Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role are to implement the required action plan, manage Quality of all Incoming materials pertaining to Metallurgy lab (ABDS & SBDS Tensioners and idlers child parts & FG product) activities to support efforts to achieve Supplier Quality Improvement, and overall management of laboratory.. The role shall carry out tactical activities to identifying areas for improvement, implementing quality control measures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, it is to support key tasks, including to enhance overall product quality and customer satisfaction. aligned with Regional vision and aspirations

  • No supervisory responsibilities; accountable for own contribution

    The incumbent reports Deputy Manager – Quality & operates in individual contributor capacity.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Graduate Engineer with minimum of 3 years & 5 years maximum experience or Diploma in Engineering with minimum of 6 years & maximum 8 years of experience.
  • Experience within quality and manufacturing functions with sound knowledge in handling Spectrometers, Metallurgical equipment’s, aluminum & ferrous alloy Metal parts testing.
  • Exposure to Quality management systems as applicable to Automotive component industry and good working knowledge of ISO 9001/ISO/TS/16949 standard

REQUIRED SKILLS:  

  • Sound knowledge in handling Spectrometers, Metallurgical equipment’s viz, polishing, grinding, m/c’s & good analytical and technical judgement skills.
  • Good knowledge of national & international testing standards preferably related to aluminum alloys, ferrous alloys and plastics, Raw material testing Application.
  • Basic knowledge on Labortary Management, spectrometer trouble shooting, calibration, QMS – TS 16949.
  • Awareness on knowledge of statistics in laboratory, Problem solving method, MIS preparation, SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP.
