Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Use software and CAE tools to develop robust belt drive system;
  • Validate system design by testing;
  • Solve system related issues;

Improve local system development capability

  • Use Gates software and 3rd party software to analysis and simulate belt drive system with advanced products. Auxiliary and timing belt drive systems.
  • Lead System Performance Test to define and validate system design and products spec.
  • Analysis of measurement data and generate test reports.
  • Present system solution to meet customer requirement.
  • Create and update System FMEA, System design specification based on Analysis /Simulation /Measurements/other system documentation.
  • Investigate and solve NVH issue in Gates products application.
  • Participate in Annual audits to sustain necessary quality certifications
  • Other tasks or duties as assigned.  

 

Keys to Success

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering.
  • Well-known automobile and engine working principle.
  • Proficiency in test sensors and data acquisition equipment.
  • Familiar with simdrive software and tools for system analysis and simulation is a plus.
  • Familiar with office/CAD etc. public software.
  • Logical thinking and problem solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and understanding capability.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve complex problems.
  • Fluent oral and written English.
  • Strong presentation and customer interface skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role will report to System Engineering Manager with function reporting line to System Engineering Manager.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

3-5 years working experience in automotive industry, Experience in Power transmission (Auxiliary Belts, Timing belts, Auxiliary / Timing tensioners & idlers, Chains, Gears), measuring techniques, simulation software tools such as ABDS, SBDS, Simdrive, NVH measurement and analysis using Rotec, rotational system dynamics, APQP, customer point of contact.
