Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In alignment with the global and regional Gates C&B strategy, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following key areas:

  • Provide compensation and benefits support for nine countries and approximately 1,400 employees.
  • Provide day-to-day compensation and benefit support and advice to regional HR teams in the implementation, communication and administration of all compensation and benefit programs. This includes base pay structures, position levelling, incentive plans, company car policies, medical/life/accident insurance, pension schemes, and other ad-hoc incentive plans at regional, country or plant level.
  • Partner with HR Managers and HR Business Partners within the EAI region to ensure timely review of all current compensation and benefit programs within the region, including benefit renewals.
  • As part of the budget planning process, lead the identification of options to ensure market competitiveness and make cost effective recommendations to senior regional leadership on pay structures, incentive plans, compensation policies, medical/life/accident insurance, pension schemes, and other ad-hoc incentive plans.
  • Support regional HR and business leadership team in developing and implementing impactful compensation and benefit solutions to address changing market, legislative and/or collective bargaining environments.
  • Analyze regional compensation and benefit programs to ensure alignment with Gates’s philosophy, market competitiveness, internal equity and applicable legislation.
  • Partner with global compensation and benefit team members, regional HR teams and regional Leadership teams in the preparation, delivery and administration of Gates global and regional compensation programs like incentive plans, compensation policies, insurances, pension schemes, etc.
  • Partner with key stakeholders in confirmation and tracking of costing relating to applicable compensation and benefit programs.
  • Provide compensation and benefits expertise and support on special C&B projects.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant area (master’s degree is preferred).
  • 8 to 10 years professional experience, including minimum 5 years of compensation & benefits experience in a multi-country environment in East Asia India.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail – demonstrated ability to use complex analysis to drive insights and decision making. 
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of regional factors influencing effective and cost-effective compensation and benefits solutions within the EAI region.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and working knowledge of Compensation Planning tools. Specific experience in Oracle or SAP is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; other EAI language(s) are considered an asset.
