Position Summary

Acting as the standalone HR representative on site, this role is responsible for delivering a comprehensive, end-to-end HR service, combining both operational execution and strategic support. The position partners closely with site leadership to drive people initiatives, ensure compliance with UK employment legislation, and maintain alignment with wider UK and EMEA HR frameworks. The role holder will independently manage all HR activities including employee relations, recruitment, payroll coordination, learning and development, and employee engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for all employees and managers on site
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, and investigations
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for site-based roles, including onboarding and inductions
  • Coordinate and administer payroll and benefits, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
  • Maintain and update HR systems (Oracle/People Inc) ensuring data accuracy and GDPR compliance
  • Produce and analyse HR reports, dashboards, and KPIs
  • Manage absence and wellbeing processes, including occupational health coordination
  • Develop, maintain, and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Coordinate track training and development plans and records
  • Lead and support employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
  • Participate in site management meetings and provide HR insights to support business decisions
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal HR standards

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Essential:

    • Proven experience in a HR Generalist or standalone HR role
    • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR processes
    • Experience in employee relations case management
    • Payroll administration experience and knowledge of HMRC requirements
    • Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office applications
    • CIPD Level 5 (minimum)

    Preferred:

    • Experience within a manufacturing and/or unionised environment
    • CIPD Level 7 or working towards
    • Degree in HR, Business, or related discipline
    • Experience supporting multi-site operations

Travel

  • Occasional travel within the UK to support other sites as required
