Essential Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for selling Gates' products in a geographical area. Research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner to determine market strategies and goals for each product and service. Take responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns and problems. Implement strategies to accelerate growth of new and additional products and/or new markets. Monitor competitive environment to identify opportunities and countermeasures to address competition. Has primary accountability for the performance and revenue results in a geographical area and additional accountability for strategic initiatives; manages established accounts in a specified geographic area.

 

We search for a talented Territory Sales Manager for Automotive for New South Wales & Western Australia.  The person we want is genuinely customer focused, with a real passion for developing and growing the Gates portfolio.  The role is based in Sydney, NSW. 

 

This an autonomous, individual contributor role, involves traveling, and majority of the time is field based. For this reason, it includes a fully maintained company vehicle, laptop, mobile phone and a very rewarding sales incentive bonus. Occasionally the person is required after business hours work when there are trade shows. Among your responsibilities are:

  • Lead sales activity in designated territory and meet sales objectives 
  • Generate additional revenue from existing customers
  • Penetrate new markets and customers by identifying sales leads and prospects
  • Execute plans and strategies in line with the country Automotive strategy with designated channels.
  • Create and deliver technical and commercial presentations and proposals
  • Conduct training for distributors or end-users about Gates automotive products
  • Establish solid relationships with all major distributors, decision makers and channels in assigned geographic area.
  • Manage the performance of channel partners
  • Complete reports requested by management on time in an acceptable form, including populating a Customer Relationship Management system

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Min 5 years of experience in a similar capacity to this advertised position.  
  • Knowledge of automotive industry is advantageous, but we are keen to hear from anyone with successful sales experience
  • A mechanical aptitude 
  • Technical experience is an advantage
