Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, analytical, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Denver office, we are seeking a Senior Buyer/Planner for our Mobility business unit.
- This is an exciting opportunity for you because you will play a key role in production planning for drive system component operations, production scheduling and inventory management to support global production operations and communicating with domestic/overseas vendors.
- You'll exercise your analytical skills and thinking, be collaborative by nature, ability to think creatively, and be comfortable tackling specific problems pertaining to supply chain management.
- This position is vital to Gates because you will work closely with the commercialization/demand planning and customer service to produce product on a timely basis to meet fast-paced, growing customer demand.
Key responsibilities:
- Analyzing customer demand through orders and forecast to coordinate the flow of goods from multiple vendors, while maintaining inventory at desired level
- Lead the supply planning function to further automation and accountability
- Managing the timely flow of goods through PO creation and maintenance with end to end visibility
- Communicating with vendors using collaborative cloud-based software to share data that ensures prioritization and on-time delivery
- Developing and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply and minimize risks associated with supplier performance, quality, and delivery
- Responsible for assembly scheduling and collaborating with assembly line supervisor to manage assembly line operations
- Working with the transportation and customs compliance teams for freight quotes, expediting, and tracking of essential goods for operations
- Assisting customer service and other supply chain analysts to convey the delivery of products and relaying any potential delays to the customer
- Drive supply chain improvement through; reporting on KPIs, identify trends to meet annual goals and mitigating future supply risk

Requirements and Preferred Skills
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field from an accredited institution required
- 6 years minimum of relevant supply chain experience required; procurement, production planning, forecasting
- Proven history of implementing best practices; inventory levels, optimizing storage, turns
- Global supply chain experience with order management capabilities
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking are a must have
- Excellent IT skills: strong Excel experience with developing graphs, linked spreadsheets, pivot tables and Excel formulas required. Power BI skills preferred
- Exceptional work ethic, team player, and strong business acumen
- Ability to adapt quickly and drive change. Challenge the status quo
- Comfort working with large datasets and large SKU counts to deliver comprehensive insights. Reporting/data visualization
- Manufacturing industry knowledge preferred
- Oracle Cloud ERP / Value Chain Planning (VCP) preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Pay & Benefits
- Full-Time
- Salary Range: $86,000 - $92,000
- No bonus potential
- Medical, Dental and Vision insurance: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
- Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days
- 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
