Position Summary

Gates Corporation has an exciting opportunity for an accomplished commercial leader in its North American (US & Canada) industrial business. The Vice President, Industrial Aftermarket Sales, reporting to the VP, Commercial NA, is responsible for profitably growing the Industrial Replacement business. This is a great opportunity for a successful industrial replacement sales executive to take their career to the next level with a growing, entrepreneurial market leader with a global reputation for quality and innovation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own the US and Canada Industrial Replacement business with accountability for delivering short term (annual) and long term (strategic) profitable growth. Key metrics are Orders, Sales, Margin, Customer Satisfaction and Sales Activity (pipeline activity).
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies that drive step-change growth in target markets, customers and product segments.
  • Act as the senior commercial ambassador and advocate for the business promoting customer satisfaction.
  • Transform the commercial organization to increase customer focus, drive end user demand generation, outgrow the market, and consistently exceed commitments.
  • Drive organizational and process change to breakthrough obstacles.
  • Proactively track, monitor, assesses and countermeasure leading and lagging indicators including revenue, profitability and expense budget performance.
  • Establish and govern the commercial organization performance management system (financials, pipeline activity, employee performance). Champion tools, process and investments that drive commercial effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Continuously assessing the need for organizational change, championing change initiatives, and removing obstacles impeding constructive organizational change.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and channel partners.
  • Manage channel and channel programs to maximize effectiveness, diversification, coverage and communication.
  • Analyze competition, pricing and market trends and coordinate with sales operations, marketing and other functions to develop countermeasure strategies.
  • Align organization's objectives with company and business strategy through active participation in strategic planning, annual planning and forecasting.
  • Partner with company and business leadership to identify untapped opportunities that will lead to game changing growth.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing, plus a minimum of 15 years' experience in industrial product or industrial aftermarket sales management.  MBA preferred.

  • Strong leadership and management skill with the ability to motivate people, build strong customer relationships and maintain positive team morale
  • Ability to act quickly and efficiently to drive change and progress in the organization
  • Ability to develop and manage financial plans and targets to drive sales and profitability for products and customers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Solid MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and CRM skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Leader of leaders; 4 to 6 direct reports, with 100+ indirect.

  • Base salary $260,000 - $290,000
