Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our (Denver) office, you will be working within the Treasury Department to oversee the workers’ compensation claims process.
- You’ll be part of the Insurance Risk Management team managing claims-related matters and working closely with the Health, Safety & Environment, HR, Legal and Accounting departments.
- You will be responsible for reviewing the claims work done by Gates’ third-party adjusters (TPAs) and making decisions necessary to improve the outcome for Gates and company employees.
- By pushing for improvements in the process, providing settlement advice and controlling costs, this position will be expected to drive significant financial savings for Gates.
- This position will be responsible for training internal partners to understand the workers’ compensation claims process.
- Your broad objective will be to protect company interests and assist employees with the workers’ compensation claims process.
- Maximizing workers’ compensation-related vendor relationships for Gates benefit is essential to success in this role.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve the workers’ compensation process, identify safety improvements and support their implementation.
- Manage various liability claims types, including but not limited to general liability, marine and auto claims.
- You will collaborate with the TPA and outside Legal Counsel daily in preparation for you providing advice to the Legal Department on settlements and to set the financial reserves with the Accounting Department.
- Employ your experience in supporting other workers’ compensation-related processes such as using industry best practices in determining the correct NCCI codes which directly affect the premiums paid by Gates.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
Requirements and Preferred Skills
- 5-7+ years of progressive workers’ compensation claims adjusting experience as this is a central skill required of this position.
- Be capable of evaluating and offering recommendations on complex litigated claims settlements.
- Liability claims experience required, this position will involve liability claims work including oversight of general liability, auto and cargo claims matters.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Having a good working familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and claim management software is required.
- Comfortable working an in-office schedule.
- The expectation is that there will be little to no Travel required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
PAY & BENEFITS
- Full-Time
- Salary Range: $91,600 - 98,000
- Relocation is not provided
- Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
- Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
