Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The main function of the Lifecycle Mechanical Engineering role is to interpret the facility’s equipment lifecycle position, to pro-actively interpret the remedial works required, future investments and suitable maintenance strategies ensuring at all times the production equipment is monitored and acted upon in a timely manner.

 

The Lifecycle Mechanical Engineer will collate data for Corporate analysis and be able to interpret and understand the data meaning and constraints.

The Lifecycle Mechanical Engineer will also assist the Mechanical Engineer in:

Compliance with regulatory, statutory and Corporate HSE requirements.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and adhere to Engineering procedures to support compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 50001 standards.
  • Control and Monitor PSSR and LOLER on site compliance.
  • Co-ordinate repair and/or replacement of faulty mechanical equipment.
  • Trouble shoot equipment failures to identify root cause of any issue and implement lasting corrective actions.
  • Support site CI activities related to H&S, quality and efficiency.
  • Enhance project engineering particularly focussing on design, cost evaluation, liaison with machine builders and suppliers, planning, project control and commissioning.
  • Provide technical support in the area of ongoing cost management and corporate projects to reduce fixed and variable costs.
  • Ensure adequate spares coverage at all times for key equipment.

  • Engage productively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver projects, resolve issues, and maintain operational performance.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Assigns tasks to and coordinates work with entry-level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff.
  • Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team; works within guidelines and policies
  • Develops broad knowledge and skills in a specific practice area.
  • Works on small projects or portions of larger projects
  • Performs moderate design tasks.
  • Prepares portions of project documents.
  • Edits specifications.
  • Performs research and investigations
  • Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.
  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
  • Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Assists with client, customer, or official contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
  • Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar engineering position.
  • Qualified to HNC /HND level or equivelant in Mechanical Engineering .
