What to expect
As a Production Planner, you’ll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations at the Dumfries facility. This role combines analytical planning, systems development, and cross-functional collaboration to drive material flow, minimise variances, and support continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with Production, Procurement, and Customer Service teams to align schedules with demand, support SAP integration, and enhance local planning systems for maximum efficiency and accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and maintain efficient production schedules across all product lines.
- Coordinate with Production, Procurement, and Customer Service to align schedules with demand and materials.
- Analyse material variances and support initiatives to reduce waste and improve accuracy.
- Monitor scanning compliance and drive corrective actions.
- Develop and automate local planning and scheduling systems.
- Improve schedule tracking, WIP management, and shop order closure.
- Support systems for real-time WIP valuation and stock control.
- Contribute to SAP integration and related system projects.
- Provide training support and holiday cover within the planning function.

Requirements and Preferred Skills
- 0-1 year(s) of experience in production planning or scheduling preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in supply chain management, logistics, business, operations management, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience in a similar role.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Good numerical ability and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP, would be an advantage.
