Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a Quality Coordinator, you will report to the Quality Manager and play a key role in maintaining and improving Gates’ Supplier Management, Quality Systems, and Laboratory operations. You’ll ensure compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements, support internal and supplier audits, and contribute to continuous improvement activities across the plant.

 

This role involves close collaboration with Operations, Engineering, MDCI, and external suppliers to uphold quality excellence and deliver on strategic quality goals.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage supplier quality processes, including audits, approvals, corrective actions, and material checks
  • Lead process and product audits to support quality improvement
  • Maintain tooling systems, including inspections, repairs, cost tracking, and database updates
  • Carry out lab testing, inspections, and certifications for incoming and finished materials
  • Conduct internal audits in line with IATF 16949 standards
  • Support calibration and measurement systems across the plant
  • Help resolve supplier and customer complaints, and support FMEA reviews
  • Ensure quality systems and control measures are maintained across the site

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Completes work with a limited degree of supervision 
  • Applies knowledge of how the team integrates with other teams to achieve objectives 
  • Provides solutions to atypical problems based on proven practices or procedures 
  • Impacts the quality, timeliness and effectiveness of the team; recommends changes to improve efficiency 
  • Explains job specific information 
  • Oversee supplier monitoring, audits, corrective actions, and development. 
  • Manage process/product audits and ensure compliance with quality standards. 
  • Maintain tooling systems, inspections, repairs, and cost control. 
  • Conduct material/product testing, certification, and compliance checks. 
  • Perform audits, support calibration, resolve complaints, and drive improvements.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Relevant professional qualification e.g. IQA / HNC/D or equivalent.
  • Experience of quality and or manufacturing process environment.
  • Knowledge of PC packages and information systems (windows, databases). 
  • Good analytical ability
  • Experience in automotive or related industry.
  • Experience and knowledge of IATF 16949 standard and core tools.
