Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Test Technician reports to the Test Centre Manager and is the member of the Global Labs Group responsible for providing engineering solutions, technical support, and testing assistance.
The Test Technician will be involved in the following.
- Assist the Test Centre Manager & Test Engineers in day-to-day support of the Test Centre.
- Operate a variety of test equipment, maintain equipment appearance, monitor and report condition.
- Control, install, monitor, inspect and measure synchronous test belts & test pulleys.
- Plan & carry out work & daily inspections.
- Operate & record data from measurement equipment to a high standard & level of repeatability.
- Enter inspection data into Test Lab databases as required.
- Liaise with customers on testing specifications and results.
- Promote standards commensurate with a centre of excellence committed to continual improvement.
- Support current and future HSE site and corporate initiatives.

- Customer Communication: Clear and professional liaison with customers on test requirements and results.
- Planning & Execution: Ability to plan work independently, carry out routine inspections, and manage workload efficiently.
- Commitment to Standards: Upholding and promoting excellence, continuous improvement, and compliance with test protocols.
- Health & Safety Awareness: Active participation in HSE initiatives and adherence to safety practices.
- Flexibility & Reliability: Willingness to support the team under varying operational demands and schedules.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Requirements and Preferred Skills
- Mathematics and English preferably to higher standard.
- Computer literacy is required including being competent with, spreadsheets & database entry.
- Educated to HNC / HND or degree level or equivelant in an engineering discipline would be advantageous but not essential.
- Previous experience as a mechanic with a working knowledge of fitting engine timing belts & components would be advantageous.Proactive attitude, self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
- Problem solving skills in a variety of fields.
- Practical with good mechanical aptitude and skills.
- General knowledge of health & safety.
- Conscientious with good attention to detail.
