What to expect
As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Working full-time from Gates Aftersales Technical Expertise Center office in Ghent., you will take responsibility for handling Automotive Replacement claims related to the quality and / or technical issues with supplied by Gates parts and providing aftersales service to the Gates customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle and document incoming claims by collecting and recording all relevant technical data (e.g. new/installed parts, root cause, supplier verification).
- Perform claim handling in line with Warranty and Non-Warranty procedures, including electronic verification, standardized analysis, and preparation of detailed Claim Analysis Reports.
- Decide on claims (acceptance/rejection) based on analysis results, expertise, and established guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Technical Support, and Claims teams; participate in cross-functional events such as Tech Days or Sales Conferences.
- Support product development and quality improvement through preventive actions, data analysis, supplier engagement, and root cause identification.
- Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement.
- Share knowledge by contributing to “Train-the-Trainer” and “Share-the-Knowledge” initiatives together with Product Managers and the technical team.
- Enhance brand awareness and customer loyalty through professional, solution-oriented claim handling.
- Develop your technical expertise and product knowledge in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Requirements and Preferred Skills
- Technical Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Mechanical Engineering, Auto Technology or a related field, or at least 5+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in a technical or quality role within the automotive industry.
- Strong passion for and interest in automotive technology.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
- Fluent in English and proficient in Dutch; good understanding of German with motivation to further improve language skills.
- Solid knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
- Proven track record in problem solving, with a data-driven and analytical mindset.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and eager to contribute to Gates Europe’s success.
