The Quality Manager oversees all aspects of quality assurance and control within the manufacturing environment to ensure products meet or exceed customer and regulatory standards. This role leads continuous improvement initiatives, manages quality systems, and drives compliance with industry standards such as ISO and IATF 16949. The Quality Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and suppliers to identify and resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain high levels of product integrity and customer satisfaction. Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills are essential to successfully manage quality processes and promote a culture of excellence throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities (to name a few):

  • Manage the execution of quality initiatives and corrective and preventive actions across all value streams to achieve strategic quality objectives
  • Oversee the effectiveness and timely completion of root cause investigations and resolutions for customer, warranty, and supplier quality issues, following industry best practices
  • Guide and support quality teams while collaborating with new product development and site peers, utilizing APQP-based management systems to support sales growth, product vitality, and minimize defect risks
  • Maintain an efficient PPAP submission process to ensure timely and accurate part qualification for customers and incoming parts
  • Own the internal quality management system audit process, including Layered Process Audits
  • Supervisory responsibilities:
    • Collaborate closely with operational site leadership, plant management, corporate quality, and cross-functional business leaders to drive quality improvements
    • Directly manage Quality Supervisors, Engineers, and Technicians

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality-related roles.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience (management or supervisory).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and working knowledge of IATF 16949.
  • Skilled in AIAG core tools: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and MSA.
  • Strong problem-solving ability using tools such as 5-Why, Cause & Effect Diagrams, DOE, and 8D.
  • Proficiency with quality software applications (e.g., Minitab, SPC tools).
  • Certifications such as CQE, CQM, CQA, or Six Sigma Green Belt are a plus, but not required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
