Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Some key responsibilities are

  • Conduct comprehensive patent searches using patent databases and tools known in the field (e.g. FTO and invalidity studies)
  • Analyze patent landscapes to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks related to new technologies/domains of Gates.
  • Prepare detailed reports and summaries of search results.
  • Collaborate with IP Attorneys and R&D stakeholders in Gates globally to support patent filing and prosecution, as well as with IP Attorneys and business stakeholders to support strategic IP initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and tools related to patent searching.
  • Utilize AI-related tools to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of patent searches and analysis.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

• Qualifications and experience:

  • Indian Patent agent.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in the field of IP.
  • Scientific Master degree (e.g. in fields of mechanics, material science, electronics, physics or any other field relevant to the gates business).
  • Excellent English language skills.
