Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role are to develop & qualify new components, processes and suppliers, supporting issues with current production, out sourcing, increase capacity, and auditing suppliers to ensure process conformance.  Make all necessary coordination between departments to ensure flawless launches with suppliers.  

 

The assigned territories include Fluid Power businesses in India. The specific responsibilities will fall into three primary areas:

 

Maximum 3 pointers per accountability

Accountability #1: Customer (Internal / External Stakeholders)

  • New supplier addition through Global NSAP and approval with SQA,
  • Coordinate with Stakeholders for all Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for child Parts.
  • Follow-up for development timeline. (Release of drawing/Get quote/regular visit at vendor/meet development timeline).

 

 

Accountability #2: Process / Performance

  • Detailed knowledge of all PPAP documentation.Prepartion and review PPAP documentation with vendors and co-ordinate for PPAP clearance with QA for new parts.
  • Knowledge of development of Receiving Gauges/Bending dies/leak testing adaptors/Tagging fixture, Part Layout inspection,CNC programming, tooling, insert etc.
  • Development of child parts (CNC machining/Forging/tubular parts etc.).

 

Accountability #3: People

  • Cost saving initiatives. Achieved major cost reduction targets by introduction of new vendors and process.
  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines and Excellent business ethics and integrity.
  • Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The incumbent reports to The incumbent reports to Director Sourcing, East Asia & India and support him in all day to day operations to achieve the business objectives of the company. 

Requirements and Preferred Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

This person must have at least 10 years hands on experience in development of Parts activities in the assigned countries or region.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical)   
  • Total work experience of 10 years with minimum 6 years in development of parts related to die casting, stamping, forging & machining. Solid understanding of metal manufacturing including casting, sheet-metal, machining, and coatings & Engineering drawing.  

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

 

  • Good knowledge of different tools of Production Process and Quality Concepts.
  • Good Planning and Organizing Capabilities.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development
  • Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets.
  • Zero Based Costing and Comparative Costing method for Machining, forging & Tube Assembly parts.
  • VAVE Activity on process improvement or cost reduction.
  • Alternate sourcing of components to achieve stringent production target.
