What to Expect?

As the Channel Marketing & Technical Support Manager at Gates EMEA, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing brand presence, supporting sales growth, and ensuring technical excellence across our product portfolio comprised of Power Transmission and Fluid Power Products. This role combines trade marketing strategy, customer engagement, and technical expertise, making it essential for driving both product adoption and customer satisfaction across the EMEA region. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Channel Marketing

  • Develop and execute trade marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and increase market penetration.
  • Work closely with sales teams and distributors to design and implement promotional campaigns, point-of-sale materials, and digital marketing initiatives.
  • Manage customer trade show participation, events, and sponsorships to strengthen Gates’ position in the market.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with global and regional marketing teams to ensure alignment with corporate branding and messaging.

 

Technical Support

  • Provide technical training and product support to sales teams, distributors, and customers across the EMEA region.
  • Act as a technical expert, assisting with product selection, troubleshooting, and application guidance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and training materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the launch of new products, ensuring sales teams and customers are well-informed on features and benefits.
  • Work closely with engineering and product development teams to relay customer feedback and contribute to product improvements.

 

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that enhance customer engagement and drive revenue growth.
  • Partner with regional sales managers, marketing teams, and product specialists to align strategies and optimize market impact.
  • Train and mentor internal teams to strengthen technical knowledge and marketing capabilities.

  • Develops and implements functional plans aligned with broader business and organizational priorities.
  • Sets strategic priorities, allocates resources, and shapes policies to drive sub-functional impact.
  • Resolves complex, cross-disciplinary issues using analysis, expertise, and sound judgment.
  • Influences senior internal and external stakeholders while aligning decisions with regional or functional objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • 4 direct reports and total team of 12 professionals
  • Sets organizational priorities and allocates resources; executes department business plans
  • Has team leadership, performance management and people development responsibility to build strong teams

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in trade marketing, technical support, or product management, preferably in the automotive or industrial sectors.
  • Minimum of 3  years' experience in a leadership role, managing multicultural teams across multiple countries and driving performance in an international environment.
  • Strong understanding of B2B marketing, distributor networks, and technical sales.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, CRM systems, and data analysis.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel across the EMEA region (30-50% travel expected).
