Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure sign off on the monthly checklist and completion of all schedules and reconciliations before Financial Monthly close and accurate and timely recording of transactions in ERP
  • Responsible for timely closing books of accounts of entities at month-ends & timely submission of all month end documents to Peer reviewer for peer review.
  • Provide supporting documents and assist the Internal & External Audit team.
  • Participate in the preparation of regular and ad hoc financial management reports including preparation variance reports; also Assist in periodic budget/forecast preparation and budget monitoring
  • Verifying and processing payment of expense claims.
  • Accurate and timely recording of supplier Invoices, Debit Notes, Credit Notes, Bank Receipts, Cash Receipts, Payment Vouchers and other finance transactions. 
  • Corporate tax computations, advance corporate and annual corporate tax filings for Local GAAP and Computation of Corporate and Deferred taxes for US GAAP, and preparing the bridge between local GAAP (i.e. TR statutory chart of accounts) and US GAAP on a quarterly basis,
  • Calculating the quarterly tax provision for quarterly US GAAP reporting, 
  • VAT computations, filings and support to the VAT refund team where necessary,

  • Detects possible weaknesses in the internal control of standard accounting procedures and recommends revisions.
  • Solves complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • Performs complex professional accounting duties
  • Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies
  • Verbally communicate accounting procedures and policies to staff and others;
  • Write memos and reports clearly and concisely;
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None
  • Acts as a resource for other team members; may lead projects with limited risks and resource requirements

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • 5-7 years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Have CPA or SMMM certificate 
  • 4+ year experience as a GL and Tax Accountant or in the Big 4 firms with Tax background
  • Strong technical U.S. GAAP accounting knowledge
  • Knowledge of best practices in internal controls
  • Should have an experience of Turkish accounting principles, international reporting standards (IFRS reporting). 
  • Require a good communication skill both oral and in writing, English and Turkish
