In this key account management role, you will take ownership of strategic customer relationships within the automotive aftermarket fluid power sector.

You will be the primary point of contact for our most valued clients, ensuring their needs are met with a high level of service and professionalism. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in the automotive aftermarket fluid power sector.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive sales growth within existing key accounts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and timely product delivery.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to support strategic account planning and growth initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations tailored to key accounts.
  • Track and analyze account performance, providing regular updates and insights to management.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None
  • You will be responsible for selling Gates' products face-to-face and remote selling to both new and existing key customers. Research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner to determine market strategies and goals for each product and service. Take responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns and problems. Implement strategies to accelerate growth of new and additional products and/or new markets. Identifying and contacting prospective customers and building relationships to generate future sales and repeat business. Monitor competitive environment to identify opportunities and countermeasures to address competition. Has primary accountability for the performance and revenue results for assigned accounts and additional accountability for strategic initiatives.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • 5-7 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in an automotive supplier environment, including customs and transport activities, is desirable.
  • Background in logistics environments such as customs and transport operations would be beneficial.
  • Strong teamwork within the Customer Service team and across Supply Chain functions is expected.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and support the Customer Service team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for professional interaction with colleagues at all levels and customer contacts.
  • Good time management skills for effective planning, organization, and productivity.
  • Proficiency in accessing, inputting, and retrieving data from Gates and customer databases.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset and collaborative attitude.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is must.
  • Additional fluency in French or German is preferred.
