POSITION SUMMARY:

We are searching for Sr. Manager Production who possesses the operational and leadership skills to operate effectively in a matrix environment and have confidence in driving aggressive growth plans. The person should have a consultative and collaborative style, proven track record / achievement. THE ROLE

This role is responsible for executing coordinating with departments, clarifying deviations, ensuring quality production, meeting statutory regulations, and managing production and 5S implementation. Also make the strategies and actions plans to achieve the organizational goals together with global functional leaders (i.e. Innovation, Operations, Finance, HR, IT and Supply Chain) to achieve overall organization’s objectives. In addition, this role would have to liaise with multi-discipline team including support functions, to delight our Internal and External stakeholders. Overseeing production processes and guiding team to achieve the production targets & budgets. Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management. Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.

The responsibilities of the role are to implement the required action plan, involves controlling, organizing, and monitoring production operations to meet targets, implementing corrective actions, and developing recovery plans for delays activities to support efforts to achieve the productivity plan.

 

The assigned territories include Fluid Power businesses in Lalru India. The specific responsibilities will fall into three primary areas:

 

Maximum 3 pointers per accountability

Accountability #1: Customer (Internal / External Stakeholders)

  • Oversee daily operations of the Spiral & Pole Built area, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to production schedules.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimizing costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are maintained at all times.
  • Implement process control measures to minimize defects and deviations.

 

Accountability #2: Process / Performance

  • Analyze energy consumption, and material utilization to enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze key production metrics, such as cycle times, defect rates, and downtime.
  • Implement best practices for cost reduction without compromising quality.
  • Communicate and liaise with other departmental managers regarding throughput of stock to ensure production targets are met.
  • Drive initiatives for waste reduction and improved yield.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams for preventive and predictive maintenance planning.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Drive compliance with environmental and workplace safety regulations.

Accountability #3: People

  • Supervise and mentor operators and technicians in the production area.
  • Conduct training sessions on process improvements, safety, and quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and continuous learning.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and suggest improvement strategies.
  • Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required

  • Implements, Interprets and executes policies; makes process modifications
  • Guides, influences and persuades others internally and/or externally

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • 3+ direct reports
  • Manages a generally homogeneous team; adapts plans and sets priorities to meet service and/or operational challenges
  • Has performance management and people development responsibility for managers or associates
  • Provides subject matter guidance to associates, colleagues and/or customers

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • 8-10 years of experience

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent reports to Plant Manager & operate with a team of 5-6 people manager/individual contributors.

 

 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS/ QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

This person must have at least 15 years hands on experience in in operational activities in the assigned countries or region.

 

  • BE/ BTech/M. Tech in Engineering (Mechanical/ Production)
  • 15- 20 years’ experience in auto/auto ancillary or similar manufacturing operations or industrial rubber industry.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

  1. knowledge of 6-Sigma, policies and procedures, such as kaizens, kanbans, Error-Proofing, TPM, SMED,  SPC and 5-S, APQP & Quality concepts , Standard work, Cost reduction ideas.
  1. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  2. Problem-solving and process optimization expertise.
  3. Familiarity with ISO, IATF, or other relevant quality standards.
  4. Proficiency in data analysis and production planning tools.
  1. Good communication skills, Knowledge of written and spoken English.
  2. Excellent business ethics and integrity
  3. Strong team player, proactively able to step in to support other team members as needed and share knowledge to allow cross training of all functions, builds collaborative relationships.
