What to expect?

We are currently looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Health & Safety Specialist to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, and implementing effective HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) strategies across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts regular inspections of working conditions and compliance with occupational health and safety (HSE) regulations—particularly in areas involving vulnerable groups such as pregnant or breastfeeding women, young workers, people with disabilities, shift workers (including night shifts), and individuals working under civil-law contracts either on-site or at locations designated by the employer.
  • Informs the employer about identified occupational hazards and presents recommendations for their elimination.
  • Prepares and presents annual analyses of the occupational health and safety situation, including proposals for technical and organizational improvements to minimize health risks and improve working conditions.
  • Participates in the development of modernization and expansion plans for the workplace, submitting proposals for the inclusion of safety-oriented technical and organizational solutions.
  • Supports the evaluation of documentation for workplace upgrades and new investments, ensuring that HSE requirements are integrated into project assumptions and technical documentation.

  • Requests disciplinary measures against employees who neglect HSE responsibilities.
  • Has the authority to immediately halt the operation of machinery or equipment if it poses a direct threat to health or life.
  • Can order the immediate removal of an employee performing prohibited work or acting in a way that endangers their own or others’ safety.
  • May request the employer to suspend work entirely or partially if an immediate threat to health or life is identified.
  • Progression to this level is restricted on the basis of business requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

  • Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own specialized area and general knowledge of related areas
  • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity
  • Leads others to solve complex problems; uses analytical thinking, tools and judgement to identify innovative solutions

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • 8-10 years of experience as a Health and Safety Specialist in Manufacturing Industry
  • University degree with specialization in occupational health and safety or other extended by post-graduate study in occupational health and safety
  • Health and Safety licenses
  • English language at minimum B2 level
  • Extended communications skills, ability to run training and influence other stakeholders for development of safe workplace
