What to expect

As Gates Corporation continues to drive profitable growth across EMEA, the Product Line Manager plays a key role in developing and executing the regional strategy for the assigned product line. This position is responsible for translating global product strategies into regional plans that drive revenue growth, profitability, market share, and product vitality.

 

The role owns the end-to-end delivery and execution discipline within the product line, leading market and competitive analysis, identifying growth opportunities, and managing product roadmaps in close collaboration with Engineering and global Innovation Centers of Excellence. The Product Line Manager oversees the full product lifecycle and ensures alignment across Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Marketing teams. Acting as a matrix leader, the role drives execution of short‑ and long‑term business objectives within a complex regional organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Owns the P&L for the assigned Product Line within EMEA, including business planning and execution.
  • Leads regional commercial programs, new product introductions (NPI), and VA/VE initiatives, ensuring all are supported by robust business cases and tracked against operating plan targets.
  • Establishes clear regional objectives and performance metrics, driving structured problem-solving and providing leadership across projects and programs to ensure successful delivery of approved initiatives.
  • Collaborates closely with regional channel and sales teams, as well as global counterparts, to engage end customers, capture the voice of the customer, conduct competitive analysis, and represent Gates in relevant industry associations across EMEA.
  • Defines, implements, and manages product value propositions, market positioning, and pricing strategies for the assigned Product Line. Supports local teams in achieving sales, marketing, and service objectives.
  • Leads key customer engagements within the region, including RFQ responses, internal business case validation, and commercial negotiations related to the assigned Product Line.
  • Analyzes and interprets internal and external business trends, providing data-driven recommendations to enhance products, processes, and services in alignment with the EMEA strategy.
  • Solves complex, cross-functional challenges through innovative and pragmatic approaches. Operates autonomously within the regional framework, escalating only the most complex or strategic topics.
  • Influences business outcomes by effectively communicating complex concepts, anticipating stakeholder perspectives, and aligning cross-functional teams toward shared objectives.
  • Directly contributes to customer satisfaction, operational performance, and strategic growth for the assigned Product Line, ensuring alignment with both EMEA and global objectives.

  • Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own specialized area and general knowledge of related areas
  • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity
  • Leads others to solve complex problems; uses analytical thinking, tools and judgement to identify innovative solutions

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • University degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in product management, sales, application engineering, or business development within industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a demonstrated ability to drive customer‑focused growth and profitability.
  • Experience managing complex, cross‑functional initiatives in matrix organizations and at regional level.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a structured approach to decision‑making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at multiple organizational levels.
  • Experience working in international, multicultural environments; global exposure is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English, any other European Language being an asset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%
