Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As an innovation leader, we are looking for ambitious, forward-thinking, and open-minded individuals to join our teams.
As part of a work-study contract, you will be hired as an HSEE Apprentice at the Gates site in Nevers and will play a key role in supporting and managing HSEE-related projects.
With nearly 30 years of existence, our Nevers site specializes in the production of belts (rubber industry). Most of our production is destined for the automotive aftermarket, as well as the industrial and agricultural sectors.
Key responsibilities (in addition to those previously mentioned):
- Review risk assessments required by legislation and company standards to better identify risks on-site
- Strengthen the site's safety culture through more frequent safety talks, Layered Process Audits (LPAs), and safety campaigns
- Assist site teams in tracking and timely closing of all relevant HSE / Energy actions
- Review all safety, LCR, and environmental procedures available at workstations to help reduce landfill waste
- Monitor energy consumption to quickly identify deviations and request maintenance actions to correct them—thereby reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions
Requirements and Preferred Skills
- Preparing for a BAC, BAC+2, BAC+3 or higher diploma in HSE/HSEE or QHSE
- A first experience in an industrial environment would be a plus
- Basic knowledge of regulatory monitoring and awareness-raising actions would be appreciated
- Analytical mindset focused on problem-solving
- Good oral communication skills and team spirit to work closely with production operators
- Basic English proficiency is required to read and implement documentation, and to communicate with our European entities
