Position Summary

The buyer will manage the planning, negotiation, logistics and materials, accessories, tools, and services purchasing for the production in the company as materials and services purchasing on timely manner, inventory management, work with international and national suppliers to obtain the best cost and develop new suppliers and ensure the timely supply of accessories and / or assigned merchandise, without exceeding the maximum recommended for an optimal inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishing specifications in terms of optimal quantity to purchase, quality requirements, and the impact cost in budget.
  • Selecting suppliers according to the type of product and category assigned in search of savings improves delivery times without compromising quality. Both nationals and foreigners.
  • Negotiating contracts that include costs, warranties, delivery, handling and penalties for the late delivery or cost overruns.
  • Managing the internal purchasing process cycle (ERP Oracle) including requisitions creation, PO creation, PO follow-up, goods reception, and final payment.
  • Monitor supplier performance with a system that allows measures and provides feedback on supplier performance.
  • Constantly monitor inventory volume and supplier response to keep inventory at recommended levels.
  • Developing people resources and information tools for productivity optimization.
  • Generate the IPP's necessary for the purchase of molds for manufacturing processes with suppliers.
  • Manage the logistics and inventory management of necessary raw materials.
  • Convert and communicate demand requirements for products and services into detailed plans and schedules for inventory acquisition.
  • Calculate key inventory performance metrics such as turnover ratio, day of inventory on hand and inventory valuation.
  • Provide forecast at least twice a year to suppliers in order to let the suppliers in their charge know the future consumption of components and / or materials based on the company's demand.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • 2-4 years of experience in the same position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or similar
  • 80% Bilingual English - Spanish
  • Keeps self-control in hard situations.
