Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Rochester Hills office, this brand-new position will be responsible for owning the overall product line strategy for electric water pumps in data centers.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the overall product line strategy for Industrial pumps – initially targeting data center applications – specifically Coolant Distribution Units (CDU), server racks and trays, and overall data center liquid cooling systems.
- Deliver “spec-in” and revenue growth for data center pumps by driving the creation of a complete portfolio with clear and compelling value propositions that will drive adoption.
- Develop, own, and deliver on a market-driven product roadmap that will drive adoption of the Gates pump technologies into data center applications and then extend into targeted industrial applications.
- Conduct Voice of Customer (VOC) interviews within the data center ecosystem to determine the future needs of technologies, industry, and our current and future customers. Continually analyze and interpret customer questions, requirements, or problems.
- Support and drive the New Product Development process for the product line to achieve desired results. Ensure that feature, quality, and cost objectives are reached along with timing commitments – providing project management support as needed.
- Drive new product commercialization through development of marketing and commercialization materials – including product specs and training materials – with the support of our Global Creative Studio. Create the necessary content for being specified by Coolant Distribution Unit manufacturers and other industrial applications.
- Support the P&L for the product line, including driving cost-down initiatives, developing positioning/pricing strategies, and capitalizing on efficiencies-of-scale.
- Manage manufacturing footprint and capacity planning to align with regional and product opportunities and potential.
- Support the preparation of effective quotations, bids, and related negotiation documentation.
- Support development of inorganic pipeline to look for opportunities to accelerate Gates adoption in this space. Develop appropriate relationships to support pipeline development.

- None.

Requirements and Preferred Skills
- You excel in a high growth and quickly evolving working environment with significant executive visibility, using your strategic vision and influential leadership to align stakeholders, drive momentum, and shape organizational direction.
- Experience leading mechanical and/or fluid products along with proven hands-on experience working with electronic systems and components. Direct experience with printed circuit boards (PCB) and communication protocols such as CAN (Controller Area Network) and Modbus (RTU/TCP) are a plus.
- Sales or technical experience with data centers, Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), and/or pump technologies a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technical or Business from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a combination of product line management, marketing, outside field sales, business development, application engineering and/or product engineering.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and graphical representation of large data sets.
- Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills to deliver high quality executive-ready presentations.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, including international travel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excited to work in the office with great teammates.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
