Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for testing to support applications design, product development, commercialization and customer validation of power transmission products and systems.  Assists with the development of test equipment and new test methodologies, ensuring accurate and reliable results. Analyzes and reports test data, providing actionable insights to support product development, application engineering, commercialization, sales, and customer needs.  Additionally, this position contributes to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of testing processes, procedures, and equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Product / System DVP&R Execution-Responsible for creation, execution, analysis and reporting of development and validation test plans which provide repeatable, accurate, relevant, and timely test data and information.  Assist with the development of test techniques, data acquisition methods, analyzes results, and prepares comprehensive test reports with conclusions and recommendations for key stakeholders.
  • Test Equipment Development - Responsible for developing new test equipment, methods, and procedures, as well as modifying existing equipment and instrumentation as needed. Collaborates with internal engineering teams and external vendors to ensure successful implementation.
  • Lab Resource Management - Responsible for optimizing the use of test resources, including providing guidance and oversight to lab personnel and contract test engineers as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement - Proactively Initiates and implements continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing costs, shortening test durations, and improving lab efficiency and development cycle times.
  • Corrective Action - Assists in identifying and communicating testing non-conformances and supports the recommendation and implementation of corrective actions.
  • APQP-Advanced Product Quality Planning and Advanced Development - Participates in Advanced Product Quality Planning and advanced development activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple locations to ensure customer requirements and timelines are met.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, or Associate’s degree with 8–10 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a test lab environment, with strong expertise in test engineering and electro-mechanical testing
  • Proven ability to lead testing activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Solid understanding of test methodologies, equipment development, and data analysis

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:  

  • In-depth knowledge of instrumentation, measurement systems, and equipment specifications
  • Proven experience in electromechanical testing, including test setup, execution, troubleshooting, and data analysis
  • Proven experience in Design of Experiments (DOE), failure mode testing, and product development processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project for planning and scheduling
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong planning, organizational, and data management abilities
  • Familiarity with CAD design tools and proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings
