Essential Duties and Responsibilities
OVERVIEW:
This role is primarily responsible for general ledger and cost accounting activities, including financial closing, inventory valuation, and product costing. In addition, the role supports cost-related planning, forecasting, and reporting activities to provide insights into operational performance and cost management.
THE ROLE
- Manage general ledger accounting including month-end closing, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Perform cost accounting activities including standard cost setting, variance analysis, and product costing.
- Manage inventory valuation and ensure accuracy of balance sheet and COGS.
- Support cost-related planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Prepare and analyze cost variances versus plan and prior periods.
- Support management reporting focusing on cost, margin, and operational performance.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accountability #1: Manage GL closing and ensure financial data accuracy
Accountability #2: Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Accountability #3: Own cost accounting processes including standard costing and variance analysis
Accountability #4: Manage inventory valuation and ensure costing accuracy
Accountability #5: Support cost-related planning and forecasting
Accountability #6: Provide cost and margin analysis for management reporting
Accountability #7: Support process improvements and strengthen financial controls

- Understand management accounting concepts and apply them to their business
- Using spreadsheets and databases to analyze information
- Navigate successfully through their company's financial systems and informal people networks to get data and information
- Possess a solid understanding of company's products, markets, and processes
Supervisory Responsibilities
- The incumbent reports to Finance controller.
Requirements and Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 7 years of experience in GL, Cost Accounting, or Accounting-related roles
- Strong understanding of costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting
- Experience in budgeting or forecasting related to cost or operations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English
- Advanced Excel skills
