What To Expect

As a Maintenance Planner at our Siloam Springs facility, you'll be a key player in our reliability and production efficiency strategy. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for planning and scheduling all maintenance activities to ensure effective use of labor, materials, and time. Your role will minimize equipment downtime while maximizing uptime, safety, and productivity.

Keys Responsibilities (To Name A Few)

  • Review all work requests and corrective maintenance work orders from assigned areas and verify the accuracy of information, engaging appropriate resources to set preliminary priorities.
  • Using CMMS to plan work
  • Work with the maintenance team to understand what is required to complete the work order task.
  • Convert approved requests into detailed work orders with defined scope, parts, tools, labor hours, and safety procedures.
  • Create pick tickets off work orders for all MRP allocated to the work order.
  • Create JSA and SOP’s
  • Plan plant shutdowns and outages accordingly.
  • Schedule parts, tools, and services orders based on production and maintenance schedules, and coordinate the delivery of parts, services, and equipment.
  • Gather quotes for parts and services, assist in vendor/contractor selection, and act as the primary contact for vendors/contractors.
  • Work with accounting and receiving departments on invoices and receipts.
  • Compile downtime and other maintenance metric data for reporting.
  • Locate and retrieve parts requested by maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain computer database/spreadsheets for ready to schedule work orders.
  • Continuously perform tasks safely, adhering to established safety rules and procedures, and take immediate action to correct or report unsafe conditions and hazards.
  • Kitting: Ensure all materials, tools, and documentation are prepared and staged before job execution.
  • Document Work History: Ensure all completed work orders are properly documented for compliance, audit, and analysis.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Assist reliability or engineering teams with historical data to support problem-solving.
  • Ensure that all work orders include safety procedures, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) instructions, and risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and capacity.
  • Align production timelines with material availability, workforce capacity, and equipment readiness.
  • Ensure that production plans support on-time delivery and efficient use of resources.
  • Document planning assumptions, constraints, and updates for visibility and traceability.
  • Keep work area clean and organized, following all applicable procedures.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3 years of progressive planning, purchasing, and/or maintenance experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Oracle and Infor systems
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Skills Required

  • Attention to Detail – Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy in planning work.
  • Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency – Familiarity with management software (e.g., MS Office, Teams, and CMMS systems is essential.
  • Maintenance planner certification
  • Mechanical/Electrical Understanding - Basic knowledge of plant equipment, maintenance methods, and failure modes to accurately plan and schedule tasks.
  • Workload Forecasting - Ability to analyze backlog and forecast labor and material needs.
  • Prioritization & Decision-Making - Evaluate and prioritize work based on safety, production impact, and resource availability.
  • Problem-Solving - Identify scheduling conflicts, delays, or resource constraints and develop effective workarounds.
