Essential Duties and Responsibilities

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a strategic and collaborative HR Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be a driven, resilient, and agile business partner, committed to contributing to an ambitious organization.

In this role, the primary responsibility would be developing and executing human resources initiatives to support corporate functions, the Greater China Finance team, and the Sourcing team. The role will also lead the Greater China Shared Services Center (SSC) to streamline data and processes, establishing a strong foundation for delivering integrated and consistent HR services.

Accountability #1: Strategic Business Partnership

  • Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, aligning HR programs and initiatives with overall company objectives.
  • Proactively provide timely and accurate HR insights and data to support informed business decision-making.

Accountability #2: Employee Relations & HR Compliance

  • Manage the full spectrum of employee relations, including grievance handling, investigations, separations, and restructuring activities.
  • Participate in talent acquisition and oversee key HR cycles: employee development, engagement, and performance management.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all local labor regulations, employment laws, and social security updates.
  • Ensure adherence to Gates corporate and regional HR policies, procedures, and standards.

Accountability #3: SSC Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Lead the Greater China SSC team, overseeing HRIS management, employee data maintenance, reporting, payroll processing, and employee self-service platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement and change management projects within the SSC to enhance service delivery and meet evolving business needs.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the SSC team; ensure optimal resourcing, and foster a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and superior customer experience.
  • Guides, influences and persuades others internally and/or externally

Keys to Success

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand commercial drivers.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders to develop and implement HR initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to coach and build effective relationships across all levels and geographies.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local regulatory and compliance landscape.
  • Proven change management and project leadership capabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Lead 5 team members.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Business Administration, Psychology, Human Resources Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of broad HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HR Management role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local labor laws, employment regulations, and social security practices.
  • Hands-on experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and related software.
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
