Essential Duties and Responsabilities
To support existing and upcoming programs - Aftermarket/AOE and IOE customers, support growth. To add and increase the support to take the product lines from start to Phase 4 and into production, in line with Company standards, APQP and GPS (Gates Production System) initiatives.
This position will also give support to packaging engineering. The incumbent will have an active role in problem solving; participate as PD team member from Phase 1 to Production. Assist in establishing run at rates, process develpment, PFMEA/P Flow Diagrams, develop and maintain SOP's and maintain programs for changes into production and continuous improvement. Project management for outside equipment houses will also be handled by this position.
Responsible for a number of diverse duties and projects which may include developing manufacturing methods and processes, writing operation sheets for products or tools, investigating and troubleshooting manufacturing problems, reviewing drawings and designs during the development phase, preparing time studies and estimates for sales. Investigates, establishes, and implements requirements for equipment, tooling, materials, or methods of manufacturing, including make or buy decisions and facility layout as required for new or revised products.
Plans and designs floor layouts to properly locate and coordinate equipment for efficient production. This position will also be required to support other international facilities and will require travel (up to 30%). Must be proficient in IATF 16949. Develops and implements production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost efficient manner. Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems. Recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters. Monitors assigned operations to assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards. Reviews proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernization of existing production/processing equipment.
Scope of Role

- Manage projects with external equipment suppliers and integrators.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing methods and processes for electromechanical assemblies and thermal management systems, including pumps, motors, fluid handling components, and integrated electronic controls.
- Write operation sheets for products and tools.
- Investigate and troubleshoot manufacturing problems.
- Review drawings and designs during development phases.
- Prepare time studies and support cost estimates for sales.
- Investigate, establish, and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials, and manufacturing methods, including make-versus-buy decisions and facility layout for new or revised products.
- Support development of testing and validation processes, including flow, pressure, leak detection, and electrical performance verification.
- Plan and design floor layouts to efficiently locate and coordinate equipment for production of high-reliability systems used in mission-critical environments such as data center infrastructure.
- Support international manufacturing facilities as required (travel up to 30%).

- Recommend and implement improvements in operation sequences, equipment utilization, and overall process flow using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Monitor assigned operations to ensure compliance with approved methods and quality requirements.
- Review proposals from outside vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernization of existing production/processing equipment. Education and Experience
Education and Experience
- BS/BA or equivalent (8 or more years of experience in lieu of degree)
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, product design, or quality within electromechanical, thermal management, or industrial systems environments.
Required Skills
- Basic design skills with general knowledge of manufacturing methods and capabilities
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD), drafting, and GD&T
- Strong understanding of statistics and ability to lead structured problem-solving activities (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone)
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
- Working knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC
- Familiarity with:
- Pump systems, fluid flow, and thermal management
- Motor-driven equipment and rotating assemblies
- Electronics integration and validation processes
- Testing systems, including flow, pressure, leak, and electrical validation
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Project management experience
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams

Education and Experience/Required Skills
BS/BA or equivalent (8 or mor years experience)
Experience with Electrical/Electronic field.
Technologist Diploma or equivalent in mechanical or manufacturing engineering. B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Minimum three years experience in manufacturing, product design or quality with an automotive OEM supplier.
Must possess basic design skills including general knowledge of manufacturing methods and capabilities. Computer aided design skills with sound drafting and GD&T knowledge required. Must have a sound knowledge of statistics and be able to lead problem-solving activities. Good written and oral communication skills. Understanding of FEAD synchronous systems.
