What to expect
As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our regional team. Working full-time from our Legnica Distribution Center or Wroclaw Office, you will be the EMEA Lead for all packaging matters in EMEA, for all product lines, all channels & facilities.
Your main responsibility will be to identify opportunities for overall savings, packaging simplification and optimization while ensuring Gates meets local requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Initiating and leading EMEA packaging’s optimization projects leading to cost-downs through simplification, packaging optimization, value engineering analysis Creating final packaging specifications to meet requirements
- Developing and maintaining packaging Bill Of Materials (BOMs) for products (both manufactured and out-purchased) and aligning specifications with product BOM structure.
- Implementing regulatory requirements as noted by company regulatory or legal departments.
- Consulting IT to create and maintaining ERP structure to ensure proper operation. Creating product mother/child hierarchy to ensure efficient management and reporting on related products.
- Coordinating with international affiliates and customers to ensure packaging satisfies their requirements. Solving damage problems resulting from improper packaging.
- Managing projects and creating proper reporting to measure progress vs project goals and overall roadmap

Requirements and Preferred Skills
- 5-7 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment coupled with a good understanding of packaging materials, product specifications, packaging and overall manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of Bill of Materials content and ERP systems hierarchy
- Understanding of various packaging container styles, including their costs, ease of use, protection potential, durability, etc.
- Knowledgeable regarding protection techniques, including choice of materials, carton styles, pallet-load strengthening or stabilization, etc.
- Understanding of various print methodologies used on packaging materials.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written, with strong Leadership to drive focus of the teams on packaging priorities.
- Aptitude for writing and managing work instructions and packaging specifications.
- Excellent technical aptitude with strong analytical, organizational, planning, and leadership skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously in a multitasking environment.
- A believer in a team environment – where individual success means the team’s success.
- High dedication to drive improvements and deliver results
- Fluent in English language.
