What to expect
The SAP OTC Lead will be responsible for designing and implementing SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) processes within a global manufacturing environment. Working closely with Global Process Owners, regional SAP teams, and subject matter experts in Sales Operations, Pricing, and Distribution, this role will drive the adoption of a standardized global OTC process across Gates.
Key responsibilities include contributing to the design and deployment of global policies, procedures, master data, role definitions, and change management initiatives within the Gates SAP Template (on-premise SAP S/4HANA).
The role requires strong consulting skills, complex solution design expertise, and solid business acumen to successfully integrate SAP into the business environment and deliver measurable results. A combination of deep SAP SD knowledge and business process expertise is essential, along with proven experience leading SAP implementations and roll-outs to achieve standard process adoption.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Design, Build & Maintain the Gates SAP Template: Collaborate with Global Process Owners, SMEs, and regional SAP teams to design and optimize OTC processes (quoting, sales orders, consignment, intercompany, returns, delivery, billing, credit management, pricing, ATP, OTD, and integration with supply chain and finance).

System & Process Governance: Ensure compliance with global standards, processes, and data integrity by partnering with GPOs, SMEs, and regional IT to govern roll-outs, enhancements, and support activities.

Deployments: Lead and coordinate OTC implementation teams—including internal IT, business users, and external consultants—across EMEA sites to deliver the Gates SAP Template and provide ongoing support.

Requirements and Preferred Skills
- Extensive hands-on SAP SD experience in a global enterprise SAP system (S/4HANA preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or business discipline, or equivalent business experience.
- 11 - 15 years of experience, including minimum 8 years in a Global IT COE organization, with participation in 6+ full-cycle SAP Go-Live projects in multicultural and multinational manufacturing plants.
- Deep experience in manufacturing industries (process and discrete), including integration with Production, Finance, Global Trade, and Supply Chain.
- Proven track record in managing 3rd party SAP consultants across multiple sites and countries at an operational level.
- Solid expertise in project methodologies, implementation, and SAP roll-out processes, including process definition/mapping (with country specifics), system configuration, data migration, and organizational change management.
- Experience operating in complex global IT organizational structures and collaborating with GPOs and regional teams.
- Prior team leadership and management experience highly desirable.
- Strong ability and willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and business knowledge relevant to the role.
